Sometimes I wonder "why me?"
Sometimes I wonder "why me?" when it comes to diabetes. I don’t often speak up about it but here I go: Sleepless nights. Countless (annoying) alarms. Mornings spent in the hospital. Invisible illnesses. Having to discontinue workouts or my yoga practice. Be a walking robot. Scabbed fingers. Panic attacks. Large needles. Huge bags filled with supplies. Crying in bathrooms. In public. Etc.
And then I remember that it has shaped me into the person I am today. I am more empathetic. I am more willing to help others. I listen. More vulnerable with my emotions. Stronger. Resilient.
